Stellarium is an open source program that can be downloaded for free at this site: http://stellarium.org/   You can search the sky for planets, stars, moons, etc., from your perspective (latitude and longitude) to learn how the bodies move and decide for yourself whether the stars and sun are moving or whether the earth is turning.  It's the next best thing to having a strong telescope.
